The EMS System
Lakes Region EMS is part of a larger public safety system in our area. Working closely with area Fire & Rescue, Police, and Sheriff Departments, as well as other ambulance services, we are all able to provide a more comprehensive and complete delivery of Emergency Medical Services to the residents of and visitors to our community.
The many first responder agencies in our area are equipped with specialized medical and rescue equipment, including Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Extrication Tools (Jaws of Life). The Paramedics and EMTs of Lakes Region EMS also assist at many Fire & Rescue and Law Enforcement incidents. Structure fires, hazardous materials releases, high risk warrant service, and hostage situations are just some of the incidents we are able to assist with.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Department Communication Center coordinates dispatch services with Lakes Region EMS for 911 Emergencies.
While we hope you never need our services be assured, if you become ill or are injured we have many high quality healthcare facilities in our area. Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center, Cambridge Memorial Hospital, St. Croix Regional Medical Center, and Osceola Area Hospital are all excellent facilities and provide 24-hour emergency care.
We also have access to metro area hospitals including Regions Hospital's Level One Trauma Center. For very critical patients we have access to medical helicopters from services like North Memorial Air Care and Life Link III.
